Windanner was chosen as part of Prince Smalls' party for the journey to Halfwind Citadel, having previously worked with Emma in Cloud Mountain's hospital. Jo Shanks was perplexed by this choice, as Emma - a full doctor - seemed a better choice to accompany the prince than Windanner, who was only an assistant.
So far as is known, Windanner - like the rest of the prince's party - made it safely to Halfwind Citadel thanks to the efforts of Helmer's advance team.
