Seddleton was the first location settled by King Whitson on the coast of Ayman Lake. It was named after the rabbit Seddle.
History[]
The Black Star of Kingston[]
Seddleton started out as a group of wooden houses built on the coast of Ayman Lake, and eventually grew into a sizable town. The community prospered, but suffered from a lack of fuel for fires to aid industry and provide warmth. At the suggestion of Fleck Blackstar, an expedition set out from Seddleton across Ayman Lake to the Low Bleaks. After a number of forays, Seddleton's rabbits established a coal mine in this area. Regrettably, their activities alerted the Lords of Prey in the neighboring High Bleaks to their presence, and the raptors launched an assault on Seddleton and the rabbits' ships.
The Battle of Ayman Lake saw Seddleton badly damaged by fire and many of its inhabitants killed or carried off into the High Bleaks by the raptors. However, a blastpowder explosion set off by Fleck Blackstar caused the raptors to retreat, leaving the remaining rabbits to recover from the disaster as best as they could. Ultimately, this resulted in the abandonment of Seddleton and the splitting of the community into two groups. One of these established Kingston on the same side of the lake as the coal mine, while the other group set sail down the River Fay in search of a new home.
The Wreck and Rise of Whitson Mariner[]
Seddleton was referenced by King Whitson Mariner as he recalled all that he and his subjects had been through in the past. Later, Massie Burnson privately recalled the events at Seddleton, and believed them to be the cause of Prince Lander's nightmares.
Ember Rising[]
Seddleton was mentioned by the Tunneler as he spoke of the origins of the Seventh District.
