Naylen leads the remainder of the Terralain army up from their homeland to join the forces under his brother Kylen and Tameth Seer. In conversation with Tameth, Naylen expresses a particular desire to face Picket Longtreader, his father's killer. He also expresses discontent at Tameth's inability to see anything of his future, though he revolts at the idea of Kylen dying and leaving him heir to the throne of Terralain. When Emma's embassy arrives at the Terralain camp, Naylen immediately attacks Picket but is swiftly disarmed; to his surprise, Picket refuses to kill him.
Following the war, it is mentioned that Naylen has gotten married.
