— Maggie to Emma Joveson, Ember's End, p. 389

Princess Maggie Joveson is the young daughter of Smalden and Heather Joveson, and the sister of Hanna Joveson, among other children.

Biography

Backstory

Maggie was born in the time of the Mending. She was named after Maggie Weaver.

Ember's End

Maggie wakes up and walks in on her mother Heather Joveson and aunt Emma as they are talking late one night. She mentions to Emma that she had a number of dreams, but when asked if she dreamed of being a queen, Maggie responds that she wants to become a doctor. When Emma notes that Firstflower has all but eliminated illness, Maggie notes that doctors can still make rabbits feel better.

As Maggie snuggles with her mother, Heather and Emma continue to discuss affairs. Maggie interjects to note that Wilfred Longtreader and Airen have fifteen adopted children, all of them orphans of the War for All Natalia. Maggie later falls asleep just before her grandmother Sween Longtreader enters, escorted by Heyna Blackstar. She later attends a family gathering at Helmer's Farm with her many relatives.

Physical appearance

Maggie is described as being grey-furred. She also owns a soft toy.

Personality and traits

Maggie's speech gives a clue to her age, as she doesn't use her verbs properly; she also incorrectly refers to her great-aunt and uncle the other way around.
