Blastarrows are a type of projectile designed to be fired from bowstrikers. They consist of a massive arrow with heads that are essentially large jars, containing flint kits and blastpowder. As such, when they impact a target, it causes a powerful explosion.
A smaller variant of blastarrow that can be fired from a standard bow was also developed, known as a flint-and-fire arrow.

Ember Rising[]
The blastarrows, like their launchers, were developed by Harbone Citadel's engineer Emerson, who later explained their workings to Picket Longtreader. The blastarrows and three bowstrikers were later used in the operation to distract First Warren's raptor sentinels while Picket and Helmer entered the city using glider capes.
Later, during the Battle for First Warren, Emerson would launch a blastarrow to kill Lord Falcowit, preventing his escape from the city.
Ember's End[]
Flint-and-fire arrows were developed some time after the Battle for First Warren, and employed by Jo Shanks in his infiltration of the Terralain camp. Blastarrows were also employed during the Siege of First Warren, most notably as part of the Blackhawk Option. Unfortunately, the Preylords came prepared for the battle with highly durable shields, which for a time stymied the Highwall Wardens in their efforts to contend with them.
