Nick Hollow is located in the North of Natalia between the East and West Wood. It is here that Picket and Heather first lived, along with their mother and father, Whittle and Sween, and little brother, Jacket.

Nick Hollow was the home of Heather and Picket Longtreader along with their parents Whittle and Sween Longtreader and baby brother, Jacket. After wolves attacked it and captured Whittle, Sween, and Jacket, Heather and Picket escaped with the help of Wilfred Longtreader and Prince Smalden Joveson. The inhabitants of Nick Hollow are described as 'ordinary' and less sophisticated than those from the east.
It is mentioned througout the book, with Heather and Picket comparing Cloud Mountain to their old home. Before taking the name Longtreader, Heather and Picket are called 'O'Nick', because, while Heather was born in the Great Wood, they lived most of their lives in Nick Hollow.
