Wolves have always been savage...It's only rare wolf commanders who've managed to organize and discipline them...The legendary King Farlock in the far north has done it.

Farlock was a king of wolves in a distant northern region of Natalia, and close kin to Garlacks and Redeye Garlackson.

Biography

The First Fowler

Helmer mentions Farlock as one of the few wolves able to discipline their normally savage brethren into effective fighting units, along with King Garlacks and his son Redeye.

Ember's End

Farlock is discussed after the leaders of the Cause learn that his wolves will be joining in Morbin Blackhawk's attack on First Warren. He is mentioned as having sent wolves under Redeye's command to aid Morbin following the death of his cousin Garlacks in the Red Valley War. Farlock's army arrives in advance of the Preylord forces, and Farlock leads them into battle himself. He kills Captain Frye and a number of other rabbits, but eventually falls to Picket Longtreader.

Later, after the Mending has begun, Picket describes his confrontation with Farlock as “Scary” when questioned.

Physical appearance

Farlock is described as a giant wolf, twice as large as any other Picket has encountered. He is white-furred except for a black streak on his back, and favored red warpaint on his muzzle. When going into battle, Farlock wore armor and a helmet of silver. Where other wolves carry swords or spears, Farlock wears long blades on his claws that he wields with devastating effect.
